Gerdau believes that its growth is directly related to the development of its customers, suppliers, employees, communities, and shareholders. To assess its management, the company relies on internal and external audits and feedback from stakeholders based on surveys. The company also has a public phone number for communities to contact the company directly, and conducts reputation surveys.

Based on a mapping that includes the categories of stakeholders that impact and/or are impacted by Gerdau's operations, the company defines its main stakeholders as: customers, direct and indirect employees, shareholders, suppliers, government, and communities. Engagement actions performed by Gerdau during 2020:

There was significant variation in the indicators of people benefited and volunteers working. Due to the pandemic and social distancing, the volunteer program has suspended in-person activities, with a significant reduction in the number of volunteers. The indicator for people benefited was applied to 100% of the projects, including those with incentives.
